Specify the sheet

State the binder grade, colour code, sheet dimensions, thickness and required finish. Clarify whether thickness refers to the sheet or a built-up edge. Ask for the current available sizes and tolerances, and identify colours that must match across a visible installation.

Approve samples and documentation

Review a physical sample under the intended lighting. Where joints or curves matter, request a fabricated trial rather than approving only a small flat chip. Obtain the technical data and safety documents for the selected series; certificates and test reports need matching product scope.

Set inspection and packing requirements

Agree how thickness, flatness, colour and surface defects will be checked. Specify batch identification, protective film, crate requirements and unloading arrangements. A written packing plan matters for international shipments and finished components.

Compare like-for-like quotations

Include sheets, adhesives, fabrication, packing and freight as applicable. Confirm the quantity, lead time, quotation validity and delivery terms in writing. A cheaper sheet can lead to higher finished cost if its size creates more waste or its grade does not suit the intended fabrication.
