A fabricated solid surface component should be compared as a complete scope of work. Two quotations can differ because of design, assembly and installation responsibilities, even when the drawings look similar.

Define the delivered component

Specify the material brand and grade, colour, thickness, final dimensions, finish and tolerance. Include edge profiles, integrated basins, joints, cut-outs and any curved faces. Confirm which details need client approval.

Review the fabrication proposal

Ask each fabricator to mark seam locations, supports and assembly steps. For curved or complex work, approve a representative prototype. Similar ingredients do not establish the same forming capability or finished result.

Separate installation interfaces

Confirm site measurement, access, fixing, plumbing, appliance fit, joint completion and final finishing. A factory-made component price and a local installed quote cover different responsibilities.

Compare the complete cost

Include packing, freight, destination handling, installation and claim support. Request quote validity and exclusions. Do not assume either brand always costs less or that a percentage saving applies to your order.
