A price per square meter is useful only when the material specification and scope of supply match. A bare sheet price cannot be compared directly with a fabricated, delivered and installed countertop. Ask for a dated written quotation rather than treating an old online price as a current offer.
Calculate the sheet price per square meter
Sheet area in square meters = length in meters × width in meters. Divide the quoted sheet price by that area. As a calculation example only, a 3.0 m × 0.8 m sheet has an area of 2.4 m². If a hypothetical quote is 120 currency units per sheet, its sheet-only price is 50 units/m². This example is not a KSTONE price or an available sheet specification.
Compare the same material
- Resin grade: pure acrylic and modified acrylic are different specifications. “100% acrylic” refers to the resin system, not a sheet containing no mineral filler.
- Dimensions: specify sheet length, width, thickness and tolerances.
- Colour: confirm the exact colour code, pattern and approved sample.
- Quantity: state sheets per colour and whether repeat orders need batch matching.
- Scope: separate sheets, adhesive, fabrication, packaging, freight, duties and installation.
Allow for cutting yield and fabrication
Purchased sheet area is not the same as finished countertop area. Offcuts, seams, edge build-ups, sink cut-outs and pattern direction affect yield. A lower sheet price can result in a higher project cost if the sheet format produces more waste or needs extra joints. Ask the fabricator to review the cutting layout before ordering.
What to include in a quotation request
Provide drawings, application, material grade, colour, thickness, quantity, delivery destination and required delivery date. Request the trade term, currency, quotation validity, minimum quantity and payment terms in writing. Custom dimensions and production timing require confirmation; they are not guaranteed by a general article.
