KSTONE and HI-MACS Solid Surface: Curved Component Qualification

Considering KSTONE for a project that also includes HI-MACS solid surface? Compare the exact products and project requirements. This guide provides a qualification process; it does not claim identical performance, an exact colour match or a guaranteed price saving.

Qualify the proposed curved design

Provide the drawing, finished radius, sheet thickness, colour and finish. Ask for grade-specific thermoforming instructions and a prototype of the most demanding section. Do not assume a shared acrylic resin description means identical forming temperatures, bend radii or colour stability.

Inspect the prototype

Check whitening, cracks, distortion, springback, pattern changes and the fit of adjoining parts. Agree the inspection criteria before production. The forming process, mould and cooling method should be validated by the fabricator for the selected material.

Use a like-for-like comparison

Item What to confirm for both offers
Material Grade, resin system, colour, thickness and sheet dimensions.
Fabrication Adhesive, joints, support, cut-outs and the approved final finish.
Documents Product data, safety data and current reports required for this application.
Commercial terms Quantity, scope, delivery term, quote validity, warranty and claim contact.

Understand normal solid surface limits

Acrylic solid surface can scratch and can be damaged by direct hot cookware. Many light marks can be refinished, and skilled fabrication can make joints inconspicuous, but outcomes depend on the product, colour, finish and damage. Non-porous does not establish antibacterial or food-contact certification.

Request a project-specific offer

KSTONE supplies pure acrylic and modified acrylic solid surface materials and fabrication solutions. Availability, sample matching, lead time and pricing need confirmation for the actual order. Read our grade comparison and cost guide, then send your specification and drawings.

HI-MACS and KSTONE are separate brands. This article does not imply affiliation, authorisation or endorsement.
